I work as an artist and Tutor generating new paintings in my studio and preparing my demonstration work for my art classes while I am in my studio at Banks Mill.    ideas for my own art work are predominantly based around the natural environment. The paintings I create are inspired by observing atmospheric conditions, a soft breeze on the waters surface or sparkling sunlight and deep reflections flickering through the canopy of tree tops in Spring, Fog and mist in an early winters morning or rain drenched streets with reflected patterns in the puddles of car headlights and shop lighting at dusk. This interaction of the elements present challenges which I enjoy responding to.

As a Tutor I take a lot of my time at the studio to experiment with mixed media so I can demonstrate new methods of working and develope techniques that are user friendly for my students. I have been teaching art for 18 years in schools and colleges,LEA leisure courses painted murals with children on playground walls, worked with teenagers that suffer from learning difficulties, and have done numerous demonstrations for many art groups/clubs. I am a professional member of the SAA ( society for all artists) and have my details on their web site under the tuition section for Derbyshire.

My weekly classes take place every Thursday morning from 10 am- 12 noon at The new community rooms in the Broadway Baptist Church, Broadway ,Derby.

I am preparing a programme of worshops to be held at a venue in Melbourne as a large number of my students live in South Derbyshire.

details will be available very soon.
